Service Animals: Policy, Forms & Onboard Rules

Agentic Airways follows the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Air Carrier Access Act rules for service animals. Trained service animals travel in the cabin free of charge — they are not pets and are not subject to pet fees.

What qualifies as a service animal

  • A service animal is a dog (any breed or type) individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability. This includes psychiatric service dogs.
  • Emotional support animals (ESAs) are not accepted as service animals. Under current DOT rules, ESAs may only travel as pets (subject to the standard pet fees, carrier rules, and in-cabin/checked requirements).
  • Service dogs in training are generally not accepted under the service-animal rules.

Required DOT forms

To travel with a service dog, you'll need to complete and submit Agentic Airways' DOT-mandated forms:

  1. DOT Service Animal Air Transportation Form — attests to the dog's health, training/behavior, and vaccination. Required for every service-dog journey.
  2. DOT Service Animal Relief Attestation Form — required for flights scheduled to last 8 hours or more. It attests that the dog will not relieve itself onboard, or can do so in a sanitary manner.

Submission deadline

  • Submit your forms as early as possible. Agentic Airways needs to finish processing the form at least 48 hours before departure. If you book within 48 hours of travel, bring the completed form(s) with you to the airport.
  • You can submit forms through the Agentic Airways accessible-services process at the Help Centre (agenticairways.ai) or via the accessibility desk.

How many service dogs, and size limits

  • You may travel with up to 2 service dogs.
  • Your dog(s) must fit within your own foot space / seat footprint without encroaching on neighboring seats or the aisle. If your dog is too large to fit in your foot space, you may need to buy a second seat or travel on a less-full flight.

Onboard behavior and control

  • Your dog must be under your control at all times and harnessed, leashed, or tethered throughout the airport and flight.
  • Your dog must behave appropriately in public (no aggression, no disruptive behavior, house-trained). A dog that misbehaves may be denied boarding or treated as a pet.
  • If you're traveling with a service animal, you may not sit in an exit row.

Fees

  • No charge for a qualified service dog. (By contrast, an ESA traveling as a pet pays the standard pet fee — $100 each way in cabin, etc.)
