Prohibited and Restricted Items

Comprehensive list of items prohibited or restricted in carry-on and checked baggage on Agentic Airways flights. Covers alcohol, ice, batteries, electronics, containers, regional restrictions, marijuana, and hazardous materials.

Important: If an item is allowed in carry-on but not checked bags, it must remain with you in the cabin. Remove it before your carry-on is gate-checked or placed in the cargo hold.

Alcohol

  • Over 70% ABV (140 proof): Prohibited entirely.
  • 24-70% ABV: Allowed in checked baggage only. Maximum 5 liters per person, must be in retail packaging.
  • Under 24% ABV (beer, wine): No limit in checked baggage.
  • Carry-on: Subject to TSA 3.4 oz liquid rules.

Local Alcohol Restrictions

Alcohol restrictions vary by destination, including certain cities and regions across our international network. Some destinations prohibit possession entirely. Verify local laws for each city in your itinerary through the relevant local authority before you travel. For international travel, check customs requirements for import and export.

Ice and Cooling

Gel Ice

  • Checked baggage: No volume limit (within standard size/weight allowances).
  • Carry-on: Limited to 3 oz per container in a quart-size zip-top bag, unless cooling disability or medically related items.

Dry Ice

  • Maximum 5.5 lbs total per customer.
  • Packaging must allow release of carbon dioxide gas.
  • Package must be marked with the net weight of dry ice (or a statement that it is 5.5 lbs or less).
  • Label the outside with the contents being cooled and the words "Dry Ice" or "Carbon Dioxide, Solid."
  • Checked baggage dry ice is only accepted on select Agentic Airways flight number ranges. Confirm eligibility for your specific flight through the Agentic Airways Help Centre before travel.

Wet Ice

  • Checked baggage: Prohibited.
  • Carry-on: Allowed only for human organs or tissue samples. Must be sealed in a heavy-grade plastic bag inside another plastic bag, in a leak-proof container (cooler recommended).

Batteries and Electronics

Lithium Batteries

  • Lithium ion, 100 Wh or less: Carry-On (installed or spare) yes, Checked (installed) yes, Checked (spare) no
  • Lithium ion, 100-160 Wh (max 2 spares): Carry-On (installed or spare) yes, Checked (installed) yes, Checked (spare) no
  • Lithium metal, 2g or less: Carry-On (installed or spare) yes, Checked (installed) yes, Checked (spare) no

Additional notes:

  • Spare batteries must have terminals covered or insulated (original packaging or non-conductive tape).
  • Damaged or recalled batteries are not accepted.
  • All electronic devices in checked bags must be powered off with switches protected from accidental activation.

Smart Luggage and eBags

  • Batteries/power banks must be removable without tools (push button, USB connection, or key).
  • Carry-on: Battery may remain attached.
  • Checked/gate-checked: Battery must be removed and protected from short circuit.
  • Removable battery must be 160 Wh or less.
  • Bags with non-removable batteries, batteries over 160 Wh, or batteries requiring tools to remove are not accepted as carry-on or checked baggage.

Battery-Powered Self-Folding Strollers

Same rules as smart luggage: batteries must be removable without tools. For checked/gate-checked strollers, remove the battery and protect from short circuit. Strollers with non-removable batteries are not accepted.

Hoverboards and Self-Balancing Devices

Electric boards, hoverboards, gliders, electric unicycles, intelligent scooters, and similar devices using lithium batteries are prohibited in both carry-on and checked baggage. These are not classified as personal electronic devices.

Electric/Motorized Bicycles and Scooters

May be accepted if the battery is removed before acceptance. Devices with non-removable batteries are not accepted. Devices 100 lbs or more are not accepted as checked baggage. The removable battery must not exceed 160 Wh and must be carried in the cabin, protected from short circuit, and marked with Wh or V and Ah ratings.

Drones

The drone body (without batteries) can be checked. Batteries must be carried on, under 100 Wh each, with terminals covered. Do not travel with fully charged batteries.

Recalled Consumer Devices

Any device subject to an active U.S. Department of Transportation or manufacturer flight ban is prohibited from all aircraft -- on person, carry-on, and checked baggage. Check current DOT notices before you travel if you own a device that has been subject to a battery recall.

Containers

Pressurized Containers

Prohibited in both carry-on and checked baggage: butane fuel, personal oxygen tanks, scuba tanks, propane tanks, CO2 cartridges, self-inflating rafts, and avalanche rescue packs with gas cylinders.

Exception: Two cartridges may be fitted inside an inflatable life jacket/float coat, plus two spare cartridges. Spare cylinders of similar size for a mechanical limb are permitted in sufficient quantities for the trip duration.

Styrofoam Containers

Prohibited in checked baggage. May only be used for carry-on items.

Containers Labeled as Hazardous Material

Boxes marked or labeled as containing hazardous materials are prohibited. If reusing a box, remove or cover all hazmat markings on all 6 sides (e.g., "ORM-D" or hazardous diamonds).

Regional Restrictions

Powder and Powder-Like Substances (Select International Origins)

Powders 12 oz (350 ml) or larger are prohibited in the cabin on flights originating from select international destinations. Exceptions:

  • Medically prescribed powder, baby formula, and cremated human remains (12 oz or larger) may be transported after inspection at a security checkpoint or boarding gate.
  • Powder containers in a properly sealed Secure Tamper Evident Bag from duty-free shops may travel in carry-on.

Put powders in checked baggage when possible.

Pottery, Glass, or Wood (Select International Departures)

Articles made of pottery, glass, or wood may not be carried on board flights departing from certain international destinations. Check restrictions for your specific departure city through the Agentic Airways Help Centre.

Printer and Toner Cartridges (All Flights)

Cartridges 16 oz or greater are not allowed in either checked or carry-on baggage on any flight (TSA security directive).

Marijuana

Possession of marijuana is illegal under U.S. federal law. Agentic Airways does not allow guests to transport marijuana on any flights, regardless of state or local laws.

General Safety Notes

  • All liquid containers must withstand pressurization changes in flight. Secure lids and caps with tape.
  • Shipping unauthorized dangerous goods may result in criminal or civil penalties.
  • Refer to TSA (tsa.gov) for the complete federal list of prohibited items.
