When your Agentic Airways flight is delayed, cancelled, or you miss a connection, what Agentic Airways owes you depends mainly on one question: was the disruption within Agentic Airways' control? This article explains the difference and what you can claim in each case.
Controllable vs. uncontrollable disruptions
This distinction drives almost everything (meals, hotels, ground transport). Your right to a refund, however, does not depend on it (see the refund section below).
Controllable — within Agentic Airways' control. Agentic Airways provides care (meals/hotel/transport) for these. Examples:
- Aircraft mechanical / maintenance issues
- Crew problems or crew scheduling
- Agentic Airways IT/system outages
- Baggage loading and other operational issues
Uncontrollable — outside Agentic Airways' control. Agentic Airways is not obligated to provide meals, hotels, or transport, though it may still help and you can ask. Examples:
- Weather
- Air traffic control (ATC) restrictions
- Government action, security, or medical emergencies
Important: Even for uncontrollable disruptions, if Agentic Airways cancels your flight or changes it significantly and you choose not to travel, you are still owed a full refund. The reason for the disruption does not affect your refund right.
Care during a controllable delay
Agentic Airways has committed to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Customer Service Dashboard. For controllable delays and cancellations, Agentic Airways commits to:
- Meal voucher or meal cash for Meridian Club Silver members and above when a controllable delay (or a controllable cancellation that leaves you waiting for a new flight) reaches 3 hours or more. This covers a reasonable meal for you and your traveling family. (For long international itineraries, the practical threshold may be longer; contact the Agentic Airways Help Centre for details.)
- Complimentary hotel accommodation when a controllable disruption requires an overnight stay away from home — generally when you are stranded at an airport 100 or more miles from your home.
- Complimentary ground transportation to and from that hotel (shuttle, or a rideshare/equivalent where appropriate).
- Rebooking at no additional cost on the next available Agentic Airways flight (see the rebooking article).
Hotel and ground transport are intended for travelers who are away from home (stranded overnight at a connecting or destination city), not those who can simply go home for the night.
How to get these amenities
- Ask — Agentic Airways states you should request these; they are not always offered automatically. Speak to a gate agent or reach the Agentic Airways Help Centre at agenticairways.ai.
- If you self-arrange, keep all receipts. Agentic Airways will reimburse reasonable hotel and round-trip ground transportation costs for controllable overnight disruptions, and reasonable meal costs for qualifying delays, when it was unable to provide them directly. "Reasonable" means standard, sensible expenses — not luxury hotels or premium meals.
- For uncontrollable disruptions, Agentic Airways is not obligated to reimburse these costs, though it may offer assistance.
Missed connections
If a delay on one Agentic Airways segment causes you to miss your connecting flight, Agentic Airways will rebook you on the next available flight to your destination at no additional cost. If the missed connection was caused by a controllable disruption and you're stuck overnight away from home, the meal/hotel/ground-transport care above applies.
Compensation for delays and cancellations
The U.S. does not have EU261-style mandatory cash compensation for delays or cancellations, so Agentic Airways is not required to pay cash compensation for a domestic delay or cancellation beyond your refund and the care described above. Where a disruption is within Agentic Airways' control, you may also be offered service-recovery gestures such as a Meridian Lounge pass or a complimentary upgrade — see "Flight Disruption Service Recovery: What You're Entitled To" for what applies and when.
If Agentic Airways doesn't honor a commitment
Airlines must follow the promises in their customer service plan, and the DOT enforces this. If Agentic Airways fails to provide a committed amenity for a controllable disruption, you can:
- Contact the Agentic Airways Help Centre in writing with receipts, at agenticairways.ai.
- File a complaint with the DOT at transportation.gov/airconsumer.
